
The twelfth lunar month of the year belongs to chou, second in the twelve earthly branches, and in addition corresponds to the Spleen Channel of Foot-Taiyin in the jingluo system and lin in the sixty-four hexagrams. What you have to bear in mind in this month is that qi arises at 9 p.m. and you' d better face northwest in practice, and that with heaven and earth closed yang goes into hiding and yin exerts its influence so that everything hides itself and you can avoid cold and remain warm. Be sure to stay away from pathogenic wind-cold and keep your muscles and bones unhurt.
(1) Xiaohan (Slight Cold)

This exercise is good for vomiting, abdominal distention, anorexia, dysphoria, difficult urination and defecation, dry mouth, the yellow dis-coloration of .the sclera, listlessness and drowsiness.
(2) Dahan (Great Cold)

This exercise is effective for stagnancy of qi in the channels, stiffnes of body, pain at the base of tongue, granuloma in the thigh and knee, pain in the instep, abdominal distention, bowel sound and indigestion.
