Chief Complaint: Ulceration and pain of lingual surface for 1 week.
History of Present Illness: One week ago, there appeared a peanut-like bloody bulla on the patient's lingual surface when she was blowing a ballon. When the bloody bulla broke, ulcera-tion was formed on the sinister lingual surface, accompanied with sharp pain. So that it's difficult for her to eat or speak. Then she went to the local policlinie for treatment, and was treated with "VitB2, VitC, Methacycline and watermelon frost. " After 1 week's treatment, there was no effect on her. She suffered from the sharp pain in her tongue, which caused she couldn't eat and speak. Then she came here for treatment on March 22,1996.

Diagnosis: Ulcer on Facies Lingualis.
Differention: It was caused by sthenic heat of liver and gallbladder, pathogenic heart-fire, which flamed upward and burnt the lingual surface.
Therapeutic Principle: Clearing away sthenic heat from liver and gallbladder, cooling blood and eliminating toxic materials, promoting the production of body fluid and expelling dampness.

All the above drugs were to be decocted in water for oral taking. 3 doses were prescribed.
Effect Observation: After taking the 1st dose, the sharp pain was relieved greatly. After taking the 2nd dose, the pain disappeared, the patient could eat and speak as normal.
