1 Asthenia syndrome of liver blood
Asthenia syndrome of liver blood is the syndrome caused by malnutrition of the liver and the related tissues and organs due to insufficiency of liver blood. This syndrome is usually caused by insufficiency of blood production due to asthenia of the spleen and stomach, or by consumption of blood due to hemorrhage and chronic disease.
Clinical manifestations: Vertigo, dizziness, pale complexion, dry and irritating sensation in the eyes, blurred vision or night blindness, dry and lusterless nails, or numbness of limbs, inflexibility of joints, tremor of hands and feet, or scanty and light-coloured menstruation, or even amenorrhea, whitish tongue and thin pulse. Such symptoms are seen in anemia caused by various hemorrhage, dysfunction of blood production and chronic consumptive disease.
Analysis of the symptoms- Dizziness, pale complexion and whitish tongue are caused by insufficiency of blood to nourish the head and face; vertigo, dry and irritating sensation in the eyes, blurred vision or night blindness are caused by insufficiency of liver blood to nourish the eyes, dry and lusterless nails, numbness of limbs, inflexibility of joints and tremor of hands and feet are caused by malnutrition of the nails and tendons and vessels due to blood asthenia; scanty and light-coloured menstruation or even amenorrhea are caused by deficiency of thoroughfare vessel and insufficiency of blood source due to insufficiency of liver blood.
