Sources: The drug is the dried bulb of Fritillaria maximowiczii Freyn (Family Liliaceae), growing on mountain slopes, in forests, scrubs, and distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Hebei of China.

Actions and Indications: The bulb is used to nourish the lung, resolve mass and phlegm, as antitussic, for the treatment of cough due to the lung-heat, dry cough, phlegm-dyspnea, hemoptysis, consump-tion, pertussis, lymphoid tuberculosis, mastitis, ulcer diseases, carbuncles and scrofula.
