The beach is on the southern Chongwu Peninsula, 24 kilometers southeast of Hui, an County. Standing at the highest part of the nearby ancient Chongwu City you can get a view of the crescent bay and bathing beach, embraced by mountains on three sides. Hui's a women, wearing their yellow bamboo hats, bright-colored scarves, silver waist belts, short jackets and fat trousers, are another beautiful scene at Chongwu.

The place is known for its combination of pleasant beach views, ancient city and special local customs. The old white granite city, now under state protection, is an intact Ming(1 368-1 644) structure. The unique and ingenious construction skills have made the city an "example of historic systematic engineering."
