Forceps
A short but wide instrument, with an end in the form of a lion's head;
A long instrument with an end like crane's beak 10 cm long;
A long instrument in the shape of a crow's beak.
The above three instruments are all 45 cm in length. All their handles are in the shape of a finger. Some instruments are hook shaped and some are ring shaped. They are used for eliminating foreign bodies lodged in the bone.
A long instrument 20 cm in length with an end in the shape of a duck's beak. It is used for taking out foreign bodies like bullets in the muscles and subcutaneous layer.
A slender instrument 80 cm long, with a hollow body through which another long and smaller tube can be passed to drain out pus from a pustule or abscess.
Knives
A knife 15 cm long in the shape of a sparrow's feather with a very sharp tip used for bloodletting from veins under the skin; identical in shape, but both tips are sharp, used for bloodletting from a pulsated vessel.
An instrument 15 cm long with a round end, while the other end is in the shape of an axe, used for bloodletting from a vein close to a bone; identical in shape, with a round handle at one end, while the other end is sickle shaped, used for bloodletting from the tongue.
