Rubbing And Compress Therapies
Rubbing therapy is a special treatment in Tibetan medicine. This simple and easily performed therapy is done by applying medicines on the body surface totreat internal disorders, and it is extensively applied by folk people.

Tibetan medicine claims that rubbing therapy is beneficial to the body with extensive indications, including rough skin surface, weakness after hemorrhage,depletion of semen and blood, low body strength, over-anxiety, unhappiness,over-exertion, and insomnia.

Its contra-indications include indigestion, dermatosis, stiff thigh, intoxication of jewelry medicines, decadent stomach fire, edema and badkan disorders.

Rubbing therapy is combined with massage or massotherapy. Generally,massotherapy is always performed after rubbing.
Rubbing with OilsOil from wild ox is mostly applied in cardiac rlung disease and red rashes. Rub the oil first on soles and palms, and then on the 6th and 7th vertebrae. Then, massage the sites gently.

Vegetable oil is mostly used for insomnia due to rlung diseases; oils from horse, ass or wild ass is mostly used for yellow fluid diseases and skin itching;oil from a deer is used to treat itching due to flea bites; oil from a dog is used to
treat wounds due to a dog bite; lard plus sulfur powder is used to treat psoriasis;vegetable plus dry ginger powder is used to treat pain due to cold-wind evils, referring to soft tissue pain, like muscular and tendon pain; white butter plus
musk is effective for insomnia due to fever.
