Therapeutic methods: Expelling wind and removing cold, eliminating dampness and regulating the middle energizer.
Prescription and drugs: The prescription used is the modified Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder composed of 10 g of Huoxiang (Herba Agastachis), 6 g of Fangfeng (Radix Ledebouriellae), 6 g of Zisuye (Folium Perilliae), 8 g of Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae), 10 g of Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis), 3 g of Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), 10 g of Fuling (Poria), 5 g of Shengiiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), 10 g of Dazao (Fructus Ziziphi Jujubae) and 3 g of Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae).
Modification: For the patients with severe exterior cold syndrome, 10 g of Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae) and 6 g of Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) are added; for the patients with abdominal distension, 5 g of Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae) and 8 g of Dafupi (Pericarpium Arecae) are included; for the patients with borborygmus and abdominal pain, Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens) is removed, and 8 g of Paojiang (baked Ginger) and 3 g of Sharen (Fructus Amomi) (to be decocted later) are added; for the patients with scanty urine, 10 g of Cheqianzi (Semen Plantaginis) (to be wrapped) and 8 g of Zexie (Rhizoma Alismatis) are included.
